Have spoken to guys on SP, who have built ply versions of AB36/SL36, and loaded with PD1850/PD186, they blow away 1850/186horns for sub 40-90hz, usable in pairs in doors, and are not far off WSXtra performance outside.
Mykey, you need to keep up with the times mate. Obviously, transplanting modern superior drivers in older designs, yields performance gains, "if", you match T/S of new driver to old cab. You know that.
Vega bins have had their day mate
Lots of the folded horns we see today are just cut down versions of SL36/AB36.

Stu, the Brute 45 is a completely curvy ported horn with one of Mykey's 18s in it.

Quite true Mykey, all based on hearsay. But does need investigating when you keep hearing it.
I've got some 186s (again), and will have 1850s soon (again), so if anyone in London has SL36/AB36 ply clones (Wont bother with originals ), would be good to clash
4 or 5 front loaded horns. (Sorry only interested in 18" loaded).Edited by: levyte357
