The problem with trying to tweek a speaker cab is that you are dealing with a fixed science. If you could change the air molecules like you can change the fuel in a car, you might get somewhere. Speed of sound , wavelength etc. are things we can do nothing about. Thats why I maintain that with a given size, irrespective of internal juggling, you won't improve much from one cab to another. The chassis speaker and the amp can make more difference to the sound than small internal changes.

To be honest I think lot of this science is bollox.
There is a problem, peoples idea of what sounds right/good is subjective.
One of the biggest problems I have with my wifes chosen art of showing ponies is the judging. Some judges like certain styles, certain bone, certain colours. Other judges like the opposite, it's the make up of their personality. A show jumper on the other hand either knocks fences down or not.
Same goes for sound, it's not and can never be a fixed science, you can only make it sound right to you. So adding tiny bits to a design that's , "Played out" can and does make a difference to the individual. IE: Making it flat in respose is seen as correct, sounds benign to me, I like spikes at the frequecies that make me buzz, etc etc......

Yes. All scoops (except HOG) descend from either the Fane, Eminence or JBL.

If enough people hadn't tinkered with the designs, extending their shelf life, we wouldn't have Big manufacturers desiging drivers primarily for scoops.

would it make a difference if you kept the chamber the same and just changed the first 45 degree brace in your plan to parrallel the upward flare?

I modelled the eminece scoop pd1850 loaded in akabak in 2 way.
One with the original plan, negative expansion simmed like a duct, and one with modded plan by Levyte357.
