Are those pictures before glue-ing? Just asking cause I didn't see any t-nuts mounted yet. There a pain to get in after glueing the cabinet up.
@Giacomo: Works like a charm!
Best regards

@ Giacomo :
-Thank you for Hermie (my building friend, he's the woodmaster) !
I first was going to build a mth-30 like you did, and really appreciated your pics/questions, so I hope my pics will be able to help/motivate others too smiley20
@Cubo :
Yes the pic were taken before gluing, to check if all the parts would fit together (they do!)
don't worry : the t-nuts are now in place,
smiley1 thanks for caring!
hoping to hear it this week end, to be continued....

Mr Cubo,
Want to use Goldwood GW12090 ( www.goldwoodsound.com/Woofers1_files/GW12090.pdf ). Will they perform better in cubo 12 than in my MTH30's? (sim for that here at bootom: www.freespeakerplans.com/index.p ... 3&start=90 ).
Mounting direction, HPF, etc would be helpful.
Thank you sir,
Mike

The Goldwood sims OK in both the Cubo 12 and the MTH-30. It will go 5 Hz deeper in the MTH-30 then in Cubo 12 at 15% increased excursion. I would recommend a 45 Hz high pass on both the NTH-30 and Cubo 12, though 40 Hz is possible if needed. Mounted with the magnet inside the horn for Cubo 12.
Best regards

Have anyone testet real life Cubo 12 Versus an 18" BR speaker ?
I know that in sims, plots, the Cubo12 has 100 Db aprox and an 18" in BR has the same SPL as itself. No + Db in BR.
But i want to know that in real life it;s the same...
I'm planing to build 2 MTH 30 and 2 Cubo 12. I have already the Cheap board for the cabs but i am curious about this "combat" between a Cubo 12 and an 18" in BR, REAL LIFE.
Thanx

I have this speaker and wondering if i can use it in the cubo12?
www.hoejttalerbutikken.dk/getdoc.asp?id=...0C3031B88B8938840904
the EBP is 87 which is <100
speaker spec:
12" woofer 180w rms 450w max
fs 27 Hz
Qms 4.1
Qes 0.33
Qts 0.31
Xmax +/- 6.4 mm
SPL 93 dB
Vas 97L
will the speaker lose control due to low EBP-value and just flap around"?

Personally I would trust measurements over the human hearing, as the human hearing is easily fooled. The best of course is the combination of measurements and human hearing as sound can be described both objectively and subjectively.
I'm not sure if you're aware; a Cubo 12 will do something @ 40 Hz and a lot above 50 Hz. An 18" reflex tuned low might not sound as loud as Cubo 12 but will take over below 50 Hz-ish and therefore be the more appropiate choice for music that contains effective low frequencies. Cubo 12 will emphase the kick and can offer transients the average 18" is not known for.
Personally I would use Cubo 12 for music that doesn't neccesarly contains a lot of lows like trance, hardstyle, gabba, techno, tekno, regular pre-recorded pop music and most pre-80/90's.
@Niklas: I wouldn't describe the EBP as the formula to calculate such a statement. In fact I would not outcast a driver based upon EBP alone.
I will have to answer you're other question latr on.
Best regards

@Niklas: The link you offer doesn't seem to work anymore. I had to guess Sd and Re (knowing it's a 4 ohm driver). Results might be off.
It seems to be a good driver for Cubo 12, with reasonable output above 40 - 45 Hz even though Fs is low.
Best regards
