How many sheets are needed to make 2 cabs? And where is best to place the handles on this cab?

Many thanks :D

Budget is around 1500SEK (114£) /Element

But still wonder is i can use the EBP to find suitable elements?
bee replied the topic:

whats your budget per driver, I stock or can get bms, pd, fane, celestion, eminence, to name a few.. based on your budget im happy to recommend a driver...

I´m looking for cheaper drivers for this cab.

Can i search drivers via EBP?

The SD18 has a EBP of 126,9
and C18-650EL has a EBP of 88.5. (FS/Qts=EBP)

If i find drivers with EBP close to those EBP values, would it work OK in the ES18-BPH?

reply in other thread.... yes the mk2 has a bigger wider magnet... so wont fit in the es18, the only option I see is for you to make a shim (spacer) for the baffle to bring the driver back into the chamber.

Did the dimensions for the c18-650el v2 change from the original? The speaker magnet hits the rear and bottom panel not letting it sit flush. I triple checked my measurements and they're good.

I wasn't trying to participate in the discussion about this particular plan, but did want to look at it. When I tried to use the link posted I got this:

"This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.freespeakerplans.com , but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue."

I normally do not see this error, but started to presume it was safe because it is here at Freespeakerplans. It then gave me another warning when I attempted to allow it and proceed:

"If you understand what's going on, you can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification. Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection.

Don't add an exception unless you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification."

I then decided to wait until I mentioned this to you guys before proceeding at all. This may be normal due to how it is hosted....but then I have looked at a lot of plans here and not encountered this. I wasn't sure how to approach it but did feel it would be irresponsible not to mention it..even if it turns out to be something laughable I should have known about! In this case I would rather even be laughed at then not to have informed the group when I should have!

hi all i want to build these as kicks above my x1 subs but need to cut my suit according to my cloth so was wondering if i could use either the emminence sigma pro delta pro or omega pro in this cab aiming to build a pair to begin with then another pair later along withnother pair of x1 and two pairs of MT122 will it work?

hi everybody,
do you think a pd 1850 would work as well? i want to use them as kick cabinet.
i don't know how can the bottom braces can fix. i mean that them crash with panel B. how did you overcome this?
thanks

Yes you will need to reverse the polarity as your speaker will need to fire backwards
PrettyHard replied the topic:

In using this cab should i invert the polarity?

big brace distance from baffle in akabak sintax

sin(rad(40))*(paneljheight-(1/sin(rad(40))*woodthickness+7.7e-2+bigbraceheight+woodthickness))

no bitzo!
i'd like to say how deep the speaker basket could be!
bitzo replied the topic:

encreasing depth without any other mods means enlarging compression chamber and throat... so means encreasing low end or gain some db on low bandwith part and may be loose high end extension. Mr. Stipe cabs make always discuss about them, I like it. smiley20

levyte357 wrote: Can anyone "guess-etimate" the response of this cab, if depth is reduced to 636mmm?

I expect shortening horn, and reducing chamber will reduce low end response, will it still reach downto usable 65hz?

More importantly, will upper response be extended?

Yes for pure kick bin that can be done..
Sacrifice is a bit shorter horn which will take away bit of low extension but 65 Hz will still be in good efficiency range.

I have already made slight simple modification for Electrikal to make "face" of cabinet 636 x 636 mm which will make it more flexible for stacking in various combination's with HOG-s and other 636mm wide scoops.

now I see ..according to some inditions and informations from Sherlock Holmes you already know that smiley2

.. Have to make some sims to see what upper response with trimmed depth from 750 to ~670 will do.. But that can give us just idea as final "character" and "honk/no honk" in delicate low vocal area is impossible to simulate.
In this situation (when you look for better high cutoff) additional Neilpoints modification ( forum.speakerplans.com/forum_posts.asp?T...title=es18bph#470523 ) may be good idea to do.

thing is with 3 or 4 next to each other, the whole lot actually gets deeper than 668mm

saul wrote: if you draw a vertical line around 110mm from the front of the cab, yeah i guess lose mouth area horn length and chamber.

horn length is currently 75cm in theory - this is only 110hz @ 1/4 wave

so the rest is the chambers?

just wondering though, why?

Why reducing depth?

Cube shape kick.. Aesthetics.

But just realised MT121 is approx 668mm deep, so "my" ES18 would have to be at least this as well.
