Topic is kick horn. C4-S crossover point is 90hz

Why would you want to build a 2 x 18'' for kick?

2 x 15 is what you need

Bass cab instead of kick horn would have been more accurate.

Less compression at the throat entry on lab horns maybe? I could not quickly see a vertical cross section on the plans I was looking at. If I understand correctly, the compression ratio the proposed design here would be double that of a regular 186 with two drivers and the same throat entry, or possibly even smaller if they are letterbox.

Yes that is the one I was talking about. Kick horn was more the initial intention rather than what we are actually talking about at the moment I think.

Compression ratio is one important thing to consider both with regards to cone strength but also it is important to match this to the specific driver to get optimum performance (May I suggest some simulations? :P ).
The lab horn uses small 12" woofers with strong cones and only a compression ratio of around 2:1 so that design should not have problems with durability.

Letterbox does not necessary have to increase the compression ratio, the whole point of it is actually to even out the load on the cone.
I do agree that doubling the compression ratio of the 186/1850 horn wouldn't be a good idea.

They are a critical distance apart. Same as my K1
