it would give even loading on the driver, not sure it needs to be so deep. this method works on a fair few designs...

How noticeable is the difference etc. letterbox vs none?
I must say I am impressed with this cab I 'threw together' for sh1ts & giggles/experiment. Hitting some serious low notes considering how short the horn path is. :blush: Have to get the rta out. See whats going on.......

I don't think it is worth the effort to modify it to get a letterbox throat. But keep the possibility in mind next time you build something.

Could you also do a sine sweep measurement?

the letter box will even the pressure on the cone, this will extend driver life, and give you more spl and a smoother sound, in theory.....

@ Dref- Sine sweep measurement? Yes,.....hopefully soon. If I can remember how, :whistle: .....lol.
@Bee- I can see that (makes sense) I suppose the way the drivers are right now, they would be exerting more pressure on themselves on one side of the driver than the other. Would that be the case in all the CV horns and the lab horn too though?

Feel free to ask if you get in doubt.

Also, making it letterbox changes the horn from an offset driver horn to a standard front-loaded horn.
