No the trianle one is correct. Had Simms connections, own brand I'm sure was August, shamrock logo maybe?

I went to a festival called "glade" last year, and all the speakers appeared really gawdy and plastiky. And the sound was awful, loads of multipath in the HF, distorted shouty mid and bass that sounds like a yob kicking a cardboard box. Musta been cheapo. At least, I would hope so.

Referring to Tempo Music, That's one I had forgot about. They were quite prominent in the early days. I guess shops that advertised in the mags became well known The only mag to be in was International Musician, and before that it was Beat Instrumental. On the Disco side, it was basically disco International.
Years ago there was a company called Spectrum. They were financed by a band called Middle Of The Road. They did the wonderful Chirpy Chirpy cheep cheep song. All of a sudden this new company arrived selling band gear and PA. But I believe they spent all the money on cars and offices and no production. They vanished as quickly as they had arrived.

Are you joking? The Glade almost exclusively used Funktion One last year, and it was setup and managed by Tony Andrews.

That's another one I'd forgotten about. They had a complete range of PA gear. Nor really a back line company but Disco and PA , lots of column speakers etc.

They used to do sound to light kits that you finished yourself! Yummy.

Hmm. Could probably start a whole new 'magazine'thread here couldn't we? On the disco side I used to swear by 'Record Mirror' where as if my dad needed musicians or was looking for gear, I seem to remember 'Melody Maker' was his bible. Although I could be getting that one confused. 'Stage' was always useful too.


Cars, offices and no production is a bad thing? I'd better go and have a quick word with my boss!
