When I see all this kit together. it makes me want to put a rig together and do the gigs again. It would probably lose me some money though.

Tony find an event and i am sure people would lend you whatever you needed! You can count my 4 mx600s, 2 bs1200's and 2 sh121b's in!!! And i bet HMSS would be up for lending you some of his gear... Plus i know some one else with 8 bs1200's

and that is just for starters!

wait until next year... i will have my full ASS rig sorted by then!

did a gig this weekend, heres a selection of pics. Best large rig ive ever heard, amazing clarity and definition yet rediculously loud!! was split over a 3ph 63amp distro off a bloomin heavy 40m cable, 16mm cores. Nearing the end, the P3000's were just blinking on the limiters, and boy did u know when in front (or anywhere in the field really!). awesome yet knackering weekend.

What are the wedges ginge? (I also spend a lot of gigs on monitors)

monitors was an allan and heath ML4000, through DBX 31band EQ, EV CS3000 amps (switchmode P3000's), into EV QRX115 Wedges (lush) and an EV 18" matching drumfill sub.
i quite enjoy monitor world, up close with the artists, get a cool view of the stage so can properly appreciate good musicianship, and dont have the pressure of the public approval like FOH must achieve!

Yup, with you on the liking monitor world. Plus, if you get it right you can pretty much fit and forget, much less stressful than having to be on the ball for the whole gig out front.

I haven't played with the QRx series although I've looked at the specs etc and it all seems pretty sensible. Wedges look like they were designed to be FOH boxes with a wedge angle added rather than dedicated wedges. Wouldn't like to try standing on them (my test whether a wedge is heavy gig friendly).

We should meet up sometime or better, try and get you on some gigs up this way if you're ever free!

your southampton area right? im near bath at home until september, when ill be back to plymouth. im always up for doing pro work, had enough of the crappy local scene, little gigs with bad bands etc.... And yeah, would be cool to meet some time. your alightingtypetoo arnt you? i have a few jobs which i could use crew on if you would be up to coming over this way?
