The new matrix amp !!

Maybe it isn't so clear that this is a test mule just to show that it exists and is in the works - just a random chassis - nothing about it matters - it's what inside it that counts and is going to be put into a Matrix chassis.

To get an idea of what it probably will have on the back, look at the current Matrix range.

That is understood but we have to give feedback on the amplifier. How do you know what the new cases will be like. It might be a cost factor also. So i was clearly giving feedback that i would like powercons. cheers

I don't think he's the type of person to use IECs when the rest of his lineup use Powercon. The UKP is the non-premier range, and this is UKP-lightpower.

Andy, Would this amp beok for running bass @ 4r all night, People always comment about lightweight amps but i have no experiance with them. Also what would the max mains current draw be (roughly)

all i can say it is easy to improve on the smps amp out there[img]smileys/smiley4.gif[/img]
i have to improve on my old work[img]smileys/smiley16.gif[/img]
that has been the challange[img]smileys/smiley12.gif[/img]
clipping into 2 on the bench it draws 30amps
however the iec cannot do that for long.
at 4 ohms the iec can take it.
i used a case that i have several hundreds off.
i have one customer has been beta testing for 8 weeks running a pair of 2, 18s. at out door jobs.
so good results

My <10kg switchmode amp did 1k for a good 6 hours into bass the last time it was used on a serious gig. No problems.

Maybe the highest power amp option should come with a 32A ceeform Andy!
