Amp for 4 Scoops was created by bitzo
Hi,
I have 4 18" super scooper loaded with 2 beyma 18g550 and 2 celestion ftr18-4080hdx. I want to drive all this cab with one amp. I've found peavey 4000 hz which is a good compromise. Have someone tested this amp ? Do you have any suggestion about other amps?
Cheers, bitzo</span>

Do you have a bad back?
Do you like a completely 'clean' sound?
What can you get in Italy?

second hand is prefereable for economic reason However if I found a cheap brand new amp it's better. My budget is around 750 euros. I've already 2 amp to drive this scoops, a qsc 3800a and a lorentz, but I've to add some kick and mid cab and I think it's stupid buy other 2 amps instead of a bigger one. Another solution is build a diy amp, I've found a project and a technician.........

for 750 euro, you should be able to find a 2nd hand crest 8001, qsc mx3000, ev p3000. all those will drive 4 scoops with ease and provide a nice warm sounding bottom end
in many applications, the sound that an amp gives is more important than the sheer power alone. after all, always remember that a 1000w amp is only twice as loud as a 100w one

I've had good results with powering two scoops with an ep2500. I'm sure two of those would work. Though, some members here would probably disagree.

thanks for the suggestion, power is not all but I want to drive 3800 w in the best way possible, I want a round and tough bass line (not so original isnt? ). But I don't want other 2 amps, I've already 2 amp who fit my scoop, but I've to drive other cabs with these.
I'm searching a 2000+2000 watt at 4 ohm. Void infinite 8 it's a dream, a second hand amp is an hope.... any alternative?

Have you looked at the FBT and Proel amps, both home grown ( via Chine probably).

Hi Tony, fbt and proel are serviced near to me but I check the sites and there aren't model which fit to my specs. Do you know if there were old models about 2000w per channel at 4 ohm?
However I've found a bargains on ebay (ended damn....) cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330253163381

seems like for now at least the peavy 4080Hz has had a resurgence in popularity never tried it myself but will say theirs often been mixed reports on peavy gear. try searching local (ish) ex hire stock out will be something lying around i would've thought though possably not at the right price, two T amp proline 2700's bridged would work though at 1000 euros thats possibly not a very attractive option compared to your others, massive overheads though. (even if its no louder overheads really does make sound all the nicer lets transients sound like they should)
