Hi daz
ten nos el34....200 watts a side.....best sounding audio tube ever made
run them at 800 volts on the plates and 400 volts on the screens with
a stiff regulated supply
re start up i use a seperate switch for my fillaments....seperate fillament
tx allso.just power up for 30 secs before energising the main tx...thermistor
on the live lead on the primary of the plate supply tx
this is the most reliable way to limit current inrush to the plates of the
output tubes...use a largish value one ...say 10 amps

PS
use ac centre tap supply for the output tubes fillaments....ground the centre tap
this will take care of any hum issues....dc for the input/splitter/driver circuit
if your looking for a good curcuit....Carlsbro have some cracking schematics for the
EL34
best.....Ian

Got all the bits just waiting on the Case to come back after getting the holes punched for the Valve Sockets. Thinking of doing a PCB rather than tagboard. Any thoughts??
Done PCB design work before but not with HT stuff.

Sorry for the delay daz
not been about for a while
P c boards are fine...but hardwired point to pont is better sonically
makes component changes easier if you wish to upgrde/repair etc
besides its more fun too!
