Okay... thats what i read many places. How would 2 g-subs loaded with pd186 compare to a pair of bandpass horn (is that the right term?) like the usb or turbosound?... is the main difference the throw distance?... as said earlier i won't ned to throw anything longer than 25-30 meters maximum, and its all indoors shows

you will need to use 3 double usb's per side to get a good response.....

Sadly we can't offord that many. We can afford 4 pd186, so that would be to usb's, else we will have to compromise on the drivers. I think we will go mono, stacking the 2 under the stage, no matter what its FAR better than our two old JBL2240G relfexes, which put out almost nothing.

My 2c,
I would be inclined to agree with the forum members here.
The USB is a very loud cab but can also sound "hard" or "aggressive".
I think in your situation, I would go with G-Sub. I think this will be a much more flexible solution Or even possibly 4 single 18" reflex.
My main reason for this is the ability to scale down and or be flexible.
With the USBs the 2 cabs in a mono block to get a half decent frequency response is your only option.
But what about if you are playing a funny shaped venue, a smaller venue or an event that does not require such high SPL?
With 4 single 18" reflex you can choose to bring just 2 bins for smaller set ups and maintain stereo.
Secondly is sound quality,
Reflex subs will give you a smoother, rounder sound and better low frequency roll off.
If you later decide that you need more power you can add more subs, With the USBs adding more subs will help a small bit to smooth the sound but you will always have that band-pass horn characteristic in the sound. For your band that sound might be desirable, but in the long term if you bands music style changes or you want to hire the system out to other bands you will be stuck with the sound.
Possibly you should get out and have a listen to some of these speakers before making your mind up.

Thank you all for your help. We ended up getting a really good deal on a pair of pd1850 horns, that were already build. We got 2 horns, and a ram bux 3.4 amp for around 1100 euro, so that was to good to resist. In brigde mono we have almost 6000 watts of power from our amp, which gives us alot of headroom.
We have already had the change to play several gigs with the system and rent i out. And we and the audience always seems very pleased.
