Dummy question about plywood materials

in the states (where i'm at anyway) there is a product called sanply. It is 3/4 A-A, Supposed to be sustainable south american wood. One customer i build cabs for requested this instead of birch.
My take on the material: Hard as birch, but not as brittle it seems.
very "fuzzy" on the saw and router. not like birch sawdust

Can't speak of it's roadworthyness, as i don't have them.

Thats a Home Depot product. I have used it in the past on some projects. Worked good the only issue is the ends have voids so plan on using a lot of wood filler.

To your Knowledge, does America produce plywood, or is it all imported. In England we don't produce ply, but we do produce MDF.

Tony, not to my knowledge, i believe it's mostly import. But that shouldn't suprise you, as we import a lot, thus the crappy economy. but thats another story.

It's too bad, we once used to be an economic superpower, now we even import food from china.

Even the tags and stickers that say "Made in America" are imported.
