Specs and various reviews suggest amp is very good, would like to believe Crest have somehow matched performance of CA18, in amp which is only 2U, and 15kg lighter than CA18, but still skeptical.

If the amp wont meet it's spec @ 40-80hz, not for me really.

CC4000 internal pic is very dissappointing, hope Crest have'nt embarked on the "Its cheap so don't care route", like Crown.

Any feedback/comments?

i have 2 x cc4000 amps on sub, running 4 ohm stereo with 4 x hog scoops/4ohm b&c 18tbx100 drivers.
the amps never had problems in the 3 years i have them, and they work good, always running cold, but now i'm looking for something better. they are very reliable but not first class(like infinite 8 mk2/crest pro 9001 and so on), one very experienced soundman told me...the boxes sound great but you should get a more powerful amp...i'm very cautious with them anyway, i prefer less db but end the gig without problems so i try to avoid clip lights, but i feel the acl limiting system works very well (as in all of my crests), so i guess that if you run them with acl light flashing often, its not big problem and the sub performance would be better...

and yes, on the back its made in china

marvins said some good things about the crest cc5500 and it was driving turbomax's. At the next 4scoop stack event i play at im gona test 4 pd1850's off of my one and see how it copes. If im not happy i'll buy another and bridge the pair on 4.... 11000w on 4 1850's..... smiley34

If bridging is your thing, hold off on the CC5500... Will be trying out "bridge monster" in couple of weeks...
