I am going this route too with MT121 on top, are Fanes 15-600LF any good? Also is it worthy to get the PRO version?

EDIT:Seems Fane Sov Pro 15-500 would be more efficient on mid bass.

the fane 15-600lf is Optimised for Ported bass enclosures, so not so good for a mid base cab. The 15-b600 would be a better choice for a mid base cab....... smiley33

My extension to the simplified MT121 is basically just a trap ported bass enclosure, but optimised for 70hz+.

Did look at the the 15-b600, but I want something with higher fs, and lowish Qes to give desired efficiency in that freq range.

Yes, but if you are having big names on your set like Aba/King Alpha, maybe you should be looking at stronger drivers like PDs/B&C/RCF/JBL 2226H... smiley23

Actually King Alpha advised me fanes against PD, but maybe they were thinking the colossus range

The thing is I'm on a limited budget so I'm trying to get the best without compromising too much...

Between kappa 15A and Fane 15-500 which would you reckon? Which one are you going with smiley1 ?

If on a budget, think Fane Sov Pro 15-500 would be slightly better than Kappa 15A.

EDIT:Still comparing driver parms, so have'nt decided yet.. Would also depend on what comes up cheap on ebay/SP, lol.

lev's post on SP:

There is no standard for stating the efficiency of a loudspeaker, so some manufacturers will give a rating at 1kHz for a subwoofer. This makes the speaker seem like it is a lot more efficient, but it is unfair when comparing to another subwoofer with an efficiency rated at 100 Hz (and not many subwoofers are used at 1kHz anyway). This formula will give you a reference number that will allow you to compare subwoofers on an equal basis.

Dont forget Vas for the above is in Cubic feet,

EDIT:Few benchmarks
