Looking for something similiar to jbl 2226/jbl 2241 for use 65hz up in 130L reflex cabs.

Anyone suggest any ?

Did someone say the old B&C 18TBX46 used to be hot in small cabs ?

most fanes all seem to be pretty sensitive at around 99dB

Have been "WinISD'ing" many drivers with alleged "97db+" sensitivity, and many seem to very optimistic, when specs are checked with WinISD parameter util.

It seems high Qes is early indicator of average sensitvity.

2241H/2226H and Eminence Kappa Pro15A model impressively.

interesting that

would you really want to use a driver with 3.2mm xmax @ 65hz though?

also, does WinISD really take into account the whole driver as a physical unit, or is it just a standard calculation. i would imagine real world results are closer - that's not to say that manufacturers dont lie tho !!! smiley36 smiley36

don't mean to spanner the works or anything - it's just quite an interesting topic. smiley17

reason i thought of fane: fane 15xb looks like it's gagging for a reflex box - high qts, high qes, 6.5mm true xmax, 4" coil etc etc etc

130L might be a bit baggy for smooth response with a single 15" though thinking about it?

There are many 15s with EBP that suggests reflex cabs, question is, which ones are the most efficient, as they will be betwixt scoops and MT121s.

Above equation tells us, if we want high efficiency driver, but not with High fs, or very large VAS, it must have lowish Qes.
E.g PD1850, V18-1000, JBL 2226H

Yes, 130L is bit baggy for decent SPL out of 15", it seems many 15s in 90-105L, tuned to 65hz, will get average sens upto approx 100db, 65-140hz.

However, it seems JBL 2241H will also do the job in 130L, tuned to 55hz.

Have you considered using 2*12" or 2*15"? it adds 3dB sensitivity (same as doubling n0) and you might find you can use considerably cheaper drivers...?

This is for use as additional section to simplified MT121.

Weight is already an issue adding 15"/18", so 2x additional drivers would make cab unusable really.

Have you tried modeling the RCF MB15N351 very high sensitivity, should happily go down 65Hz

Looks ridiculously efficient, however price is out of my budget

www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=294-862

$310 4+

However, will now be looking out for drivers with similiar parms, lol
