plans for midrange with 15" drivers) was created by roast
greetings forum,
i'm looking for plans for midrange cabinets suitable for 15" drivers. currently i have some normal reflex boxes but they don't throw like the rest of my system. but i can't seem to find any midrange long throw plans for 15" drivers - all help & tips would be greatly appreciated.
i have a 5 way system where the mids are covering 135-2k, using eminence kappa 15a. (i think they are maybe not really the perfect drivers for this range but these are the ones i have..)
so i'm looking for something like speakerplans' MT102, but designed for 15" driver(s) and without the 2" driver / tweeter section.
best regards,

I personally have never used a 15 for mid range. The only time mid goes through a 15 is in a 2 way system, which can't be avoided. Mid is best served with a 12. You need a light cone, not much x-max and good sensitivity. Many people who use 15's for mids end up using a bass speaker, because there are no/very few actually mid 15's.
Peace and goodwill to all speaker builders

they are p-audio 2" compression drivers, with 100 w rms each. the horn flare is also by p-audio, but i think that excact model is out of production. rather wide angle ( about 90 if i remember correctly.
