However many still prefer ES18-BPH/USB.
Do you think we could come up with an FSP15-BPH, that is all the HD15 is, + all that it isnt?
I guess it will just be a free version of the ruler... A.S.S BS600/BS1200..

I woke up. The pain and sickness all over me like an animal. Then I realized what it was. The music coming up from the floor was our old friend, Ludwig Van, and the dreaded Ninth Symphony.

Static Age wrote: there is a descussion over on SP regarding the same subject. The HD15 was compared with the old turbosound 15" bph which as we know can play upto 250hz. the main difference noted is the size of the rear chamber, on the turbo cab it is larger.
I would imagine one of the reasons the old turbosound 15BPH/BS600 are so large is to allow them to play low.
If the emphasis is more on 70-200, would shorter horn/smaller rear chamber be the idea?

the chamber on the HD15 is very small, as anyone who has tried fit drivers in will tell you.
so whats the science on BPH's, what makes some designs play higher than others, is the hole rear chamber size the opposite to the 'normal' way of thinking?
excuse my ignorance Tek but is the BS600 a band passhorn or a folded horn?

That's not a bandpass horn though. From Tony's pics it doesn't look massively dissimilar to this (it's a pdf dload) plan from selenium except Tony has the v wedge thing to even the driver stress.
Although i have hornresp i can't actually use it anyone care to post the box parameters as a start point.
And about the plots on the hd15 page- does the spl response tell you how it actually sounds? I thought it was just a honky box above 160 whatever the driver.

I tried clicking on the box parameters jpg on the HD15 sim thread, and something with porn bannersappeared on my screen, very convenient at work.
Maybe the parameters were on it, but couldnt risk that on my screen period.

By all accounts, HD15 will play up to 180Hz fine, If we can get it honkless up to 220hz, I'm sure most 10"/12" Mid tops can cope from there upwards.
