Just played a 1kHz at 0dBfs test tone from a cd and the input meters are reading -10dB.
Tried a 1kHz test tone from winISD and it clips at 0dBfs, but the meter reads -2dB if I attenuate by 1 dB. I'm using a Trends Audio UD10.1 DAC and you can't control the volume from the sounds and audio devices, but you can from windows media player. The output meters don't go above -10dB. Any idea what's going on? This doesn't occur when I'm using Traktor DJ Studio, so is the problem with windows media player?
