Prevent CDs from Skipping was created by Music
Hello,
I was referred here for some advice - hopefully you can help!
I will be doing a wedding on Jan 2nd in a hall with a very bouncy wooden floor. I've played in this hall before with my anti-shock CD units and haven't had a problem with CD's skipping. However, that being said the crowd I'm going to be playing for is going to be quite 'rowdy' meaning they will really cause the floor to shake (more so than other crowds). Any advice to prevent CD's from skipping? Will the anti-shock continue to work? Anything to put under the CD unit to help it? Or anything to put under the table legs that will help? I will be set up on a stage.
Also the speakers themselves on poles will also be 'swaying' somewhat due to the extremely bouncy floor..
Going to a computer is not feasible at this point so any advice with respect to the CD unit would be appreciated.
Thanks very much!

I have played in a venue with a similar floor, and by the end of the night we had to take it in turns to hold the cd players in the air to stop them skipping.
So, maybe take a couple of friends along to "lend a hand" literally.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for the advice!
A thought - would putting the cd units on a scale (since it's on a spring) help?
Any thoughts would be appreciated ....thanks again! Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Using the same Deck Isolators as used on vinyl would help. If there is actually a lot of physical movement, then you do have problems. You then have to find a way of isolating the players from the platform all together. Probably stating the obvious here.

If you are setup on a stage, try not to have your speakers on stage with you. As this can cause vibration, and cause your cd players to skip.
