speeding fine!!!! was created by podman
Just been caught doing 74mph in what I thought was a 60 limit A road,
turns out the speed limit is actually 50mph when in any van bigger than
an astra etc over 2 tonne gross weight regardless of whether you are
empty or loaded.

I thought it was when it was over 3.5 tonnes that it was 50mph. You can
imagine the joyfull glee on the boys in blues faces when they informed
me of the real limit. Like flies on a turd!

Be carelfull all van drivers and dont end up with the same fate!

I'm sure there are real criminals out there you know! Bloody road was deserted as well!!!!

2.20 on a sunday morning!

AAHHHGGGGG!!!!!!!!!

Unlucky and i do sympathise

74 on an A road in a van might be a little fast though especially with the keen eye of the old bill north of the border.

Did ya just get a fixed penalty or is it worse than that?

Did they try to weigh you over

Thats the other thing you gotta be careful of

I got caught a ton over in a LWB merc on the M40 when I used to work for Wigwam Acoustic

Didnt notice the weight cos the van went like hot sh*t

I only got pulled once, one Sunday morning after an all nighter in Cambridge. We were on the M11. I think we had to follow the police into Harlow to the weigh station. We were in a Luton and I had to take half the stuff off and then go to Southend, drop off and then return for the remainder. It was the middle of winter and very cold. The guy that was with me had to stay with the gear. We had always been well equipped with flight cases, and on approaching a rounderbout near the weigh station I noticed something on the rounderbout. My man had built himself a small bungalow out of cases and lids and was completely enclosed. He was fast asleep when I pulled away a lid (front door). It was very funny to see and I was surprised he hadn't been moved off. It was worth the fine just to see him attempting to be a new age traveller.

Peace and goodwill to all speaker builders

They did not weigh me, never even looked at the van!

Its under weight anyway as its the 2.9t model.

It has to go to court as it was more than 20mph over the 50 mph limit.

Learned the hard way!!!!!
