Pair of full range speakers placed on it side - PRO's & CON's was created by Housexy
Good day all,
Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know what's the PRO's & CON's of this scenario.
Sometime back, I saw a setup by another DJ service provider as they were setting up, where they had a pair of mid tops strapped together & laid on its side horizontally with the top hat section touching other. They had it setup on a truss, so it kinda looked/ formed an array type speaker system/ feel. So the tweeter/ CD's of each mid top, were on the outer most of the setup.
Not sure if they were pro's but never the less.
Unfortunately, I was not able to hear the outcome, but was just curious on this.

Pro's: More kick due to mid drivers coupling within 1/4 wavelength distance, typically a relatively stable way of hanging tops on truss, enables to get higher frequencies on the front row and medium range, if aimed downward enough.
Con's: Not great for high frequency interference between tweeters.
