Hi,
I'm new here and have been pondering for the last few weeks as to which cabs I will build for a semi-portable setup.
I've played with bits of PA systems before but want to build something which is high quality, will last and sound great!
-It will mainly be used for Disco/House/Techno
-I'd like to keep the cost of the drivers and 2way x overs (for the tops) under about £800
-I am going to use this inside and outdoors (100 to 300 people)
I want to be able to bundle it all in a small-ish van and came to the conclusion that 4 x Cubo 15" and 2 x SMT212 tops would be a good compromise.
Having the 4 cubo cabs would give me the option to either stack a single SMT212 on a single cubo15 or setup the other cubo 15 for extra kick...
My current kit to drive the rig:
1 x Ecler APA2000, 2 x 4ohm 940w or bridged 2kw 8ohm (Was thinkin this could drive the subs either two cubo15 8ohm or run each channel parallel if two cubo's either side). I'll get another 2 chan amp to drive the tops.
I have no doubt that two SMT212 wil handle all the mid and high I need but will 2/4 Cubo15 serve me for sub / kick /low end duties?
What do you guys think!?
