Hi,

Been a DJ with my own sound and lighting equipment now for 27 years.
Equipment have changed quite a bit in the beginning till I found my Beyma's.

Current sound system:
2 x Beyma 15G450 long trow subs
2 x Beyma 15G350 2 way speaker boxes with Beyma bullet tweeters (hadly use the currently)
2 x Celestion (will have to open box for number) 2 way speker boxes with Beyma Bullet tweeter
1 x Samson S2000 Amp (Subs)
2 x Hybrid B1600 Amps (Tops)
Hybrid crossover
Behringer EQ

DJ for weddings, corporate functions, sound system for plays, and sound for live singers.

Found this site due to wanting to have the system redesigned and compacted for better performance.
Hope to find answers here that will accomodate my existing drivers.

Greets,
Alan

I have been looking at the Cubic 15 for the subs and the Cubic kick 15 on top of those.

Will the 15G450 work in the Cubic 15 and the 15G350 work for the Cubic kick?

Thanx for the help.

Yes and yes, it's pretty much like each driver was optimised for that particular enclosure. The S2000 at 2 x 8 Ohm being a good match for the 15G450's (owned a S2000 for many years).

Best regards

I had a look at the design and my trailer would not accomodate the width of these cabinets (4 in total)

If i keep the volume ratio's the same for each compartment will it affect the frequency response of the box. Looking at shinking the width to 500mm and extending the height to accomodate the volume.

:pinch: nothing is every as easy as you think it will be.

Advantage will be the gain in height with the Cubo15 and Cubo 15 kick on top of each other the kick will be right on chest height.

Also still have to find a solution for my tops when going this route.

greets
Alan

You can make Cubo 15 just 50 cm wide, this will raise the lower cut off by 5 Hz, making it a 45 Hz and up bass bin. If this isn't a problem, it's the easiest way out. If you want to equal the volume to the original plan, raise the height to ~77 cm.

From the height difference of 15 cm, put 5 cm on the side of the chamber and 10 cm in front of the driver, see the attachment for clarification.

What tops do you have?

Best regards

Hi,

Thank you very much for the design change. I will most prob go for the extended box. The tops I thought was Celestions turns out to be HyperPhase CM-15/S with Beyma CP-21F tweeters.
I have not checked the specs to see if they will be better suited for the mid bass than the 15G350's

Popped one of them (CM-15) over the weekend. First Beyma I needed to repair in almost 15 years. The capasitor on the output of the crossover failed :( Luckily I know someone that does an awesome job on repairs.

Regards,
Alan

The Beyma 15G350's being pretty much optimised for use in Cubo Kick 15, they are better suited than the CM-15's.

Personally I would go for Cubo 15 Extended as sub, install a top hat in the Cubo 15 and the top and put the top on a (metal) stick, so that it's on ear level. That's the standard setup used for cooperate gigs, weddings and such. Cubo kicks are mostly used for high output dance music systems, which you don't seem to need for your purposes.

Instead of investing in the kicks I would use it to upgrade the tops, if needed.

Best regards

Thank you for the advise. I curently use the top hat configuration and is looking at expanding my system for larger events up to rugby field size. I will need another full system to acomplish this, but it work in progress.

Finally starting with construction this weekend :woohoo:

Finally got the boxes built. Have some issues with the paint that was not compatible with the undercoat so removing it all again.

What is the correct frequency crossover points for the cubo 15? Finally invested in a speaker management system

Thanx in advance

Generally 40 - 100 Hz, this can vary a bit depending on the driver used and how it's mounted inside the Cubo 15. Low pass 24 dB/octave LinkWitz-Riley, high pass 12 - 24 dB/octave Butterworth.

Best regards Cubo
