sound system advice needed

hi folks...looking for a bit of advice on building a sound system primarily for dnb outside - parties n festys.. ideally gonna be 4 18" hog scoops, 4 es18's (but wondering if USB 2s would work instead) and not decided on tops yet - any advice?

gonna build the whole system out of 18ml void free birch ply - already cut pieces for 2 18" hog scoops, all ready to assemble next week.

load hogs pd1850s, and we have got dbx drivrack pa + as a crossover.

not decided on amp yet - is it ok to get a decent 2nd hand one or is it worth the extra cash for something new?

wiring

speakon or xlr? we are thinking about trying to make our own cables -what the mistakes to look out for - is this a bad idea?

we are struggling to find any drawings for how to wire up the inside of the hogs - is it as simple as a cable from driver through chamber and out the back?

and should we wire up in series or parallel?

use neutrik speakon connectors, they are pretty much industry standard. And for wiring you just need to wire you drivers in your hog to your speakon port (in/outs), not sure bout the other things to be totally honest, i would say unless your making money out of it and using professionally that second had good condition amps are fine, just have a good look at the amp before you buy, maybe get them to test it.
