Hi, I thought i'd introduce myself. My name is Dave and I live near Raleigh, NC. I worked in the nuclear industry for the last 40 years or so (tapering off now). What brought me here? I have a subwoofer (Cambridge Newton) that quit working as it should a while back and I decided to either fix it or throw it out. It has two 8" drivers that both face out 180 degrees apart, and it's in an ~1 cu. ft. enclosure. It turns out there were two issues: 1) the amplifier is kaput (no idea what the issue is, and 2) one driver had the edge of the spider detaching. So I am exploring the idea of using the drivers (repaired), a sub plate amp bought at Parts Express (Dayton 250W), and building a box for them from a yet-to-be-determined design.
