Hello all,

Just a quick note to say hi and also thanks. I've been going over a lot of the designs and reading the threads, really interesting stuff.

I'm currently looking to build my own PA to replace an ageing Peavey system for my band. Specifically looking for advice on building a 3 way system with an active crossover (so tri-amped) over a biamped 2 way (high-mid with passive Xover). I don't even know if you can plug a speaker straight into an amp without some sort of circuit first to protect it. Im up with Ohms/wattage and the basics of passive crossover design but nothing on feeding the speakers from an active crossover.

Would anyone be willing to offer any advice? I'm quite new to this so i'm sure there shall be some basic fundamentals i need to understand.

Thanks all
