Hi all,
I've modelled a bass cab modding rcf esw1088 to load a 15" driver, to cover from 60hz to 150hz and a sealed chamber 12"+1" for midtop. My idea is to place the midtop inside the bass horn mouth to be more portable, so a 3 way system so compact and scoopish. The bass cab is loaded with a reflex driver pd156, and midtop with deltalite12, 1" horn could be eminence h295 beacuse of its dimension. A pole mounting could be a nice option IMO.
The external dimension would be bass cab 50x52x90, midtop 31x46.5x38
Here's quick sketch of my idea
Here's the bass cab's sim
and Hr input
s1=584
s2=584
con=35.4
s3=1781
con=23
s4=1781
con=35.2
vtc=69360 (with driver)
atc=2605
edit: corrected vtc and horn lenght
Here's the midtop's sim (only mid )
and Hr input
s1=1186
s2=1186
con=5
vrc=32 (with driver)
lrc=26.6
vtc=512
atc=900
all the sim is on 2xpi
cheers, bitzo

How about a coax 12?

coax in the simple mid? could be an option but....I think that the 12" horn limit the extension into higher region. May be a double 10" coaxial in a reflex should be better tuned at 80hz, and this case you can remove the "foot" on the dogleg , encrasing depth, and having a proper scoop xover point

Just a thought about balance. If you use a horn for the top, it might be too much for the mid, If it stays like a direct radiator. Your horn will project into the room and the mid may have difficulty keeping up.
This is where a coaxil may be the appropriate component.

I see, it's a nice solutions but a bit expensive. My first thoght was to put inside the mid horn a piezo array (convex or concave or crossfired like billfitzmaurice) or dome tweeter or something else for the top, I want to reach 1khz on tops bottom end.

Hi all,
I modeled another minis based on jensen imperial layout, here's the drawing. If you don't put the brace in the mouth you can place there the simple mid 12". The external dimension is 97.5 height x 64 width x 60 depth, horn lenght 107 cm, compression chamber volume without driver around 82 liters.
<!-- ia2 -->imperialmini.jpg<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:2ul1vhrf]
Here's the sim 18tbx100 loaded. The bump on 50hz can be easily flattened reducing a bit the compression chamber using corner brace.
<!-- ia1 -->imperialminisim.jpg<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:2ul1vhrf]
and excursion at 100V
<!-- ia0 -->imperialminiex.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2ul1vhrf]
I'm thinking about the midhigh, I mean from to 800 hz in one solution, sealed chamber 8" coaxial or a 2" compression driver.
what do you think about b&c 6HCX51 ?
