hog scoop 21'' desing help was created by toni_addkt
hi !!

i've been working in a project of 21" hog scoop with precision devices pd 2150 because I have 2 for make 2 hogs.
I got the plan of the hog scoop of this forum and scaled to 21" like an idea of somone of this forum. I show you the result better for discuss. I'd like to get I would be greatful with any help.

p.d. : in squares sections I thinked in circular sections for make more linear that is possible the cone

thanks to all !!

The horn path will be very hyperbolic <0.5, so octo hyperbolic. Not sure this will be optimum for this design given the mouth size.

Throat has a width of 127mm, then jumps to 179mm very quickly, is there a reason for this?

first of all: I can't believe that rog mogale is giving me advice of my desing !! I have to say that I'm a big fan of your desings  :woohoo: :woohoo:

And there is no reason of this jump of throat, I saw that and i thinked the same, and this desing gives me a very strange horn with very irregular sections. As people say, maybe I should make a more linear exponential horn?

How I was not sure of this desing, yeaterday i
I got your plan, the SUPERSCOOPER MOGAlE 21, wich is desing specially for an pd2150, and i adapted the horn in the hog scoop, then I will share this plan when I go home for show it. The result is a big box but with good an very similar hornresp SPL graph

Much thanks Rob !! (i'm going to share with my friends that I'm talking with rob mogale of my desing lolll :D :D )

that's the new desing using mogale 21 superscoop reference, and adapt for get 2'5 horn lenght. what do you think??

I know the big size but i would get a good bass against weight problem ??

Maybe I could use 18mm of ply for get it more light or 21 is strongest to avoid vibrations etc..??

too much thanks and sorry for my english :)

As some have said on the other forum, its a big cab for the output and cuttoff you will get. Also so much unused internal space.

The horn path could expand behind the rear chamber, making it more exponential and using up some space. If you can't get that to work then I would go back to the hog design and play around with the expansion.

Rog.

Something like this could work and would give you a 2.8 meter path length.
