i think this is the key point here ^
things get cheap when you do loads of them.
i estimate one scoop is gonna cost you over £120, from most builders. There's no point in anyone taking on the work for less, no one wants to work for nothing smiley1
Completely understandable..
Unfortunately, due to what's on the market at the moment, budget constrained tighter than usual...

OK, Mr T... smiley36
Promise not to get it built unless I get a quote from a builder (that is within budget), that allows it to be built "well", with birch exterior, and mdf internals..

Classic
@NR, Don't know if this product would be sold to customers really...
Idea is to get prototype built, and see how it fares at possible upcoming scoop shootout.
Would imagine it would have to really impress, to attract prospective customers.

that's quite rude DUDElevyte357 wrote: Wanted:London builder to make prototype 18" scoop
Very similiar to Eminence design in my icon, in 18mm standard/shutter ply, filled ready for primer, but not painted.
With grill battens, but without grill. Expect cab to require approx 3x sheets of 8x4
Ligwa is selling finished painted 18mm birch ply scoops on ebay for £195,
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...geName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
EDIT:So obviously won't be looking to pay anywhere near that for unfinished scoop in shutter ply.
you work in IT right? how about if we fly over a few Indians to take you and your friends jobs for 1/16th of your wages?

Been happening for quite a few years now Mykey.... LOL...
In 2007, was working for Huge Insurance giant in Ipswich... They terminated contracts of 10 contractors 3 months early, when they discovered they could take on 20 indian developers for approx half the cost. Contractors had 24 hour learning curve and produced higher quality work due to considerable experience, however cutting costs was priority.. Thats the free market for you..
So, back to topic...

Proviso's being, no sanding, no paint and no curved sections. THis is not to do with workmanship but time/facours.
Also no crap ply, MDF or WISA or Birch.
I did a quick pair of GSubs before chrismas, WBP ply, quality was cool, but it's all WARPED!, was a bitch of a job to save 50 quid, never again.
