Cubo 12 vs MTH-30 was created by xcn
Hie all. I've been caught in a dilemma for a while. I'm looking to build a number of 12" bass cabinets and so far, the Cubo 12 and MTH-30 have caught my attention. How do the two compare in terms of performance? what are the pros and cons of each and which design would be suited for outdoor applications?

MTH-30; 131.7 liter external / Cubo 12; 97.2 liter external. The MTH-30 goes 5 Hz lower as Cubo 12, lower excursion needs for Cubo 12. Sensitvity and SPL Max are about the same. As with regards to outdoor perfromance I suspect they behave very similar. I haven't heard a MTH-30 but based on the higher sensitivty of Cubo 12 above 120 Hz, I would aspect it to sound a bit more "kicky" and the MTH-30 a bit more "bassy".

Best regards

Cubo

Cubo- You are right there, im considering a dedicated kick cab because of this. Lots of bass, but it kinda lacks the punch, especially for live drummer situations.

Maybe cubo 15 above the mth, not sure where to xo tho.

thanks cubo, read other thread too. The MTH30's like you said, kinda lack kick. Have been looking into bins togo above. currently i run my mth30 to about 150 crossed to 12'' mids

to remain in 12" theme... mkb230 or mkh-230? you can cut it in half to have a single version.

looked into this bitzo, keeping with marks designs is there a difference between mkh & mkb? They look the same. why singles, do you feel 4 mth wont keep up with 2 full cabs.

BTW, it would be very cool to have a all 12" system!
