A new arrival. was created by tony.a.s.s.
As there has been talk in the past about moulding horns, I thought I would post this picture taken yesterday. I had just pulled out the new mould for the new R2U (rapid response system) Mother and baby are doing fine.

I see what you mean now. I wasn't really aware of this product. Is it an import? can't think it would be made here. The asymmetric horn used does look similar.
I first made this type of horn when I produced the MX900. Unfortunately, I can't use this horn in the new system as the crossover point into the horn is around 600 hz, so I have had to make a bigger more open horn.
For me, the asymmetric horn makes sense because with a ground stack, I always try to get the hf to beam down, in as much as there's no point in having half of your vertical dispersion going into the roof or the sky.

exactly - i have always thought/wondered on this

i thought i might start angling the baffles down a bit for the HF horns, as all our gigs use ground stack. would this cause problems? or does it do the same thing? i can't see how it would cause problems

as far as the NCA goes - it's all made in France, and i'm pretty certain they do their own mouldings. they sound very nice.

Thanks for the info. Regarding angling down. On the MX600, 450 and 350, there is a 4 degrees tilt. I saw this situation years ago . A bit of a pain but it had to be done. It also means you have to angle your support for the driver in the cab the same way and make sure its in line. O what fun we have.
