Hi Mate, I didn't build the mids. The reason people say that is because they are almost identical to the 2x12 I used to build. I did build loads of court 2x15 bins though. Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like you have butt joints in the cabs. Without exception, all ASS cabs were and are rebated joints.

Just remembered, we also built the court mid hi cabs. It is only looking at the pictures again I realize that the horns have been cut from the mid. There were quite a few copies around at the time. So what you have is modified copies. If they sound good, that's all that matters.

they did used to be mid top boxes until they were separated for weight and to get extra hight on tops
something didnt seem right with them
they are overly heavy and from lash up trials they sound ok
but
the joints didnt look the best and they are glued and stapled rather then screwed but that might be because the boxes are 30-40 years old & im not sure how things were done back then
cheers for the reply

Just a small bit of info. Staples are still used today. Even now if we build Scoops, half the fixings are staples. Because of the glue we use, I only look at fixings holding the cab together until the glue goes off. The staple are resin bonded and are as good as screws. They are also quicker to apply, which is what you need when you have 20 big ones to make in a week.
