Cubo 12 was created by l_park
Hi guys!

So I'me a neewbie, I'm building a cubo 12 with a PD 12SB20, what would be a good amp for him? in the future I plan to have 2 Cubo's

I see the Behringer EP4000 Europower or the the t.amp TA2400 MK-X, will I be fine with one of those? Do I need extra filters, crosshovers etc?

Thanks

Hi I_park!
First of all Behringer is known for its not-quality of products. Above all the iNuke series. I haven't tryed the EP4000, but my advice is don't buy behringer, it isn't reliability.
If you haven't a lof of money, the best solution for you is the TA2400, it is very good in quality and price.

Thanks Alessio,

In fact now I was looking for the behringer NU6000 mostly because of the DSP..
Do you think I will need DSP? I hear that TA2400 is good but doesn't offer to many options.. at least I think a crossover? these TA's dont have at least a basic crossover...

What do you think about SAMSON DSX7000?

TA is for the veterans B)

TA hasn't DSP, like all most of amplifiers. Yeah, you need an active crossover, but it isn't a big problem. There are many cheap crossover.

Samson SXD is good but it is more expensive that TA. A lot!

Have you got any mid tops?
If you have another amplifier, in my opinion, is better buying an active crossover (for exsample DBX 223, if you want a 2-way sistem). More versatile.

I only have 2 Active Yamaha's DBR12 as Tops
So this amp will be just for this sub(maybe one more in the future)

This will be the only amplifier. So do you think with a TA and a DBX I will be fine? do I need something else for this sub?

Thanks Alessio for you help

Guys I'm really focusing on the samson dsx7000, since this will be the only amplifier is more pratical since has built-in crossover, this way I can save on a rack and on the DBX..

What do you think? Will I be fine to (in the future) connect 4 Cubo's 12(12SB30) with no power issues?

The specs are : SXD7000 2 x 700 Watts at 8Ω and 2 x 1000 Watts at 4Ω
(If 4 connected it will have to be a 4Ω right? so I will have 500w per 12SB30?)

yeah, if you connect 2 cubos in the rigth or left channel they work as 4ohm, then 500W each woofer. DBX is helpful with a "multi" rack or a rack with more amplifiers. Anyway, your solution is good! ;)

I'm waiting the photos and video of your first cubo!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
