older AB International- Scratchy Pots and a little static

I have one older AB amp that is a little noisy. the volume pots are a little scratchy. Also, there is some slight static when there is no music, and is faintly present behind the mix. any ideas as to why? i know its old (mid 90's i believe), but none of my other ABs have the static issue. (they all seem to have the volume pot issue)

I assume you've tried switch cleaner in the pots. The amps are old so perhaps its just wear and tear. Dave martin was the first to import these in UK, I can't imagine there are many about here.

obviously they were all class AB , and build quality was good, so no surprise

just a shame they didn't do a super powered version

Saul, there was no super power when these were designed, these were some of the big ones at the time.

Just looked at the site. Some interesting stuff there. It seems strange to see amps still made that size, still at least there will be plenty of room for air flow.
