Big amps on 13A Sockets/32A ring main was created by levyte357
Heated debates on SP at the moment regarding this very topic.

Many people suggest "replacing" plug fuse with something else if using heavy duty plug, and > 13A is needed, and "protection" is on a distro.

Apparently this has been going on in Sound/PA world for years.

Would like to hear opinions from all camps.

Nah, just wire it into the 42amp cooker ring, then you're cooking.

it's what was always done. I did that at carnival 1994, on Oxford gardens, the women's kitchen was right next to the set smiley1 I wonder if that was the reason we were to keep up with turbo sound with less than a quarter of the kit they had

well of course, the problem isn't the safety aspect, it's the covering your back post accident. which is insane

You know that if it went wrong, you'd be in deep **** if your found using non-standard methods of current protection.

Fact of the matter is, have heard of this going on with big sound systems from year dot.

Mykey regarding tapping into the "kitchen supply", I have heard of various techniques.

Question is, how could you tap in there, and leave faceplate on?

Sparkie also told me "something" about the plug socket on these cooker switchplates, is this true ?

you just kill the main switchboard to the cooker, most houses are on a seperate ring. Then take off face plate, connect to wires. re turn on power to socket. job done......
