They've got a new venture using XBL tech (unlike most driver gimmicks, this one works, and very well). Dual magnetic gap. Used to greatly increase linear xmax without efficiency loss. So...40.4mm mms with decent (around 97dB 2.83V/1m) efficiency. A quick glance at the T/S tells you it's no mush motor either....

bit of a strange but very interesting driver, wonder where power compression kicks in, and if they have any other future plans, i'm sure in the right cab with enough power these could blow your pants off. not very eco friendly though is it.. peak of 10,000w!

Any further enquiries should go to the email addresses on pasub.com
Hi,
I have a few questions:
1. Could you give me an idea of your prices?</span>
</span>
Retail pricing for small
quantities will be around $700 each for the PA540 21" driver; or slightly
more depending on location of the sale. </span>
<div>
2. Do you have any distributors in the UK?
</div>
</span>
Not presently. We are actively
seeking qualified distributors in the EU. </span>
<div>
3. Is the product out yet?
</span>
</div>
Yes the drivers are in
production; however initial supply is restricted to OEM interest and potential
distributors.</span>
<div>
</span>
</div>
<div>
We recommend smaller, very low tuned enclosures. These are
real subwoofers! For example, the 15” driver works great in 2.5
cubic feet tuned to 30 Hz. They are well suited to bass reflex
applications. </span>Use these drivers when you want to reach down below 40-50
Hz; they love pumping in the 30s.</span>

minaximal wrote: the 18" looks like an interesting driver, quick sims show it's a few db's down with same power input against pd1850 and v18-1000, but power handling would be crazy, and over weigh that, assuming you had amps that can do 4000w@8r!. again though it seems to be of the v1200 turbomax breed, scoop category. probably the highish vas and medium bl contribute, but must have quite a weak cone with mmd of 157, which again rules out high compression ratios of front loaded horns, with that much power.

Dan mentioned in the rest of his email that then absolutely tiny VC length due to XBL^2 makes the assembly much lighter. Here's the paper:

If they're anything like the other ones developed directly by the Adire team (of which Dan Wiggins is at PASUB), bombproof quality.
