Will a B&CTWB100 work in a Cubo 18? was created by Tralien
Hey all!
I have a B&C TWB100, Is it a good match up for this cabinet? or is there a better fit for enclosure design? This is my first build so just hoping to start off with a win!

Hi,

The 18TBW100 can be used in both Cubo 18 Extended (40 Hz, loudest) and Cubo Sub (30 Hz, largest). Do you have the 4 Ohm or the 8 Ohm version?

Hey thanks for getting back to me.
I've got the four ohm version.
Is there more consideration with choosing either a 4 or 8 ohm load?
I feel like the Sub version maybe the way to go as low is my preference.

Apart from the different load resulting in different power options from amplifiers, the 8 and 4 Ohm version of a single driver (like the 18TBW100) can actually be quite different, the motor structure is the same but the voice coil is completely different. For some B&C models the differences between 4 and 8 Ohm versions are small but in this case the difference is significant, to the point that I prefer the 4 over the 8 Ohm version. The 4 Ohm version has higher EBP, lower Qts and Le, which are generally desired traits and it´s something I would look for when choosing Cubo 18 Extended.

The extended Xmax makes it a typical sub driver, I think Cubo Sub is the best choice here to get the maximum from the 18TBW100 if your choice of music requires it.

Thanks Cubo! Great information, Thank you!
The B&C drivers are relatively easy for me to get, but my knowledge in what to get is lacking. When I ordered that driver I was kind of rolling the dice to be honest.
I was planning on building a cubo kick 15 as well, but hadn't started looking at drivers for it as of yet. What do you think would be a good B&C pairing for the TWB100 18" driver cubo sub?
Just curious do you have any build pictures of the inside of a cubo sub?
Cheers

Most diy build pics of Cubo Sub show the outside of the cabinet, is there anything specific you're looking for?

One Cubo Kick 15 with 500 W generally keeps up with up to 2 x Cubo Subs each getting 1000 W. From B&C the 15NW76, 15NDL76 and 15NDL88 are a good match.
