Hello
I remember registering myself here few years ago, but I have lost that account, decided to start new one and start posting with the project I've been working on. The project is also covered pretty well over at the older forum.
In short: horn-reflex hybrid for PD.12SB30. Dimensions are 86*86*43cm, total weight around 50-55kg. Haven't yet decided if I share the plans. The prototype is not 1:1 per these sketches are.
Horn works to around 70hz area and the ported back chamber handles the rest.
We will soon build stack of 4 or 6 to start with and see how it performs in bigger stack.
proto:
predicted 2pi / 2,83v:
predicted 0,5pi / 2,83v:
predicted 0,5pi / 2,83v / doublecab:
measured with Senn MKH800 in 4*10*2,8m big studio live room:
measured with Berry measurement mike in big studio theatre room against X1 Letterbox with V18-1000, both cabs with exactly same setup and amp.:
I'll report asap. when we build more of these to really see what they can do. smiley12

Having listened to the prototype this is just simple one way bass. No point trying to get this thing to meet big CD. Best crossed between 130-200hz
Sounds more hifi than 1850 horn, nice punch and extension.

Looks very similar indeed to a 15" version I did a year or so ago, very good performance from a relatively simple cabinet. Good work.

Funny that you mention it. I simmed PD1550 with this and it seemed to perform quite well without any retuning. It didn't seem to go as low, but was slightly smoother.PD 15" frame fits into 40cm wide space with 3mm space on each side, so it could be done.
