First "symmetric" folded tapped bass horn in world? Maybe.
Staips new Idea:
Ran with new Fane 1000. Thank you Paulie Paul for loan. Brilliant driver, utterly lovely.
Utterly mental with dance, massive spl and energy running 40hz hpf, it DOES need this, maybe a bit lower, but it seriously helps.
As much energy as a 2x18,
Air movement at 5 meters!
900w very safe. 1200 w fine DJ control of sub bass limited. In other words, "A controlled system" Thats a lot of watts for one driver.
Plays up to as high as you like with no honk, not nice above 150hz but OK. Used at 125 for best effect.
Would make perfect, “Techno” bin.
Lying on side, oh my god, it is nuts. It will live, “Centre” in my system, between Rhino/ES18 stacks. Something for the girls to dance on
Very difficult build, a right jigsaw puzzle to be able to get all screws in braces, without braces would be simple.
This cab has massive energy, it acts like a dual 18 cab, much more musical than USB IMHO. LOTS of air being moved.
Big thanks to Stipe! smiley32

Looks interesting and reads like a very useful sub. Any designs/plans for this sub? What's the recommended driver to be used in it?

Plans are down to Staip.
No idea if they are to be made public?

Well, it's an interesting take on a labyrinth concept. If it sounds good then I guess everything must be in phase. Was it easy to calculate the length of horn so that the rear would be in phase with the front at the exit point?
