ATC cabs, help please. was created by calsystems
ive got some ATC PA75-234 std . knocking around. and as they are 9" im highly unlikely to ever use them in my sound system. However i could do with making some speakers for listen at home, and to at least build and finish some cabinets!

i would like to make 2 cabinets both housing 2 of the same drivers. with a decent low end extension, although i would probably enad up adding some subs at a later date.

so if someone who is a bit more clued up could give me a box size and port size that would be much apprieceated.

all the T/S are on this page at the bottom. but you have to download the pdf . its the 7th driver down.

How many of them have you got? Fancy selling any? They'd just go nicely in a hi-fi project I've been meaning to start!

Sorry, got a little overexcited then at seeing ATC drive units for sale. Thought it was a different driver. Just checked the TS params and they won't do what I want unfortunately.

To be honest, I'm not sure what they were designed for but with a resonance of almost 80Hz, they're not going to be much good in full range cabs. I reckon they might be worth trying as a midrange driver, either direct radiating or horn loaded. Might work well with a 15" below and 1" CD above doing 300-3kHz. The PDF says 250-5kHz is the useable range.

These 9" speakers seemed always to be used in horn loaded enclosures. When it first appeared, I thought it was a strange one to make, being a 9 instead of a 10. However, it did sell, and in this country, CP cases, with their Mega brand were the biggest users. It was always in a mid cab, and always had their little phase plug device in front. I believe it is this devise that formed the design of the small units used in Martin cabs.

Well i want to use them at home in a 'hifi' situation.
so far im thinking 2 in each cab with some small 1" flares.
i also have some 12" atc LC bass drivers that i was planning to use for bass.

What are the respective sensitivity levels like, if they're up and down, it will take a bit of work with the x/o, unless you're going to run them active.
