dead ep2500 & ep1500,not mine lol was created by vibes
my mates got 2 dead behringer ep2500 and an ep1500 he said i can have them if i want them but they dont work

theres no power what so ever ,i tried the breaker things at the backs but nothing still , they dont even go to turn on ,, is it worth trying to blag behringer after sales and get them replaced maybe? as they are useless to anyone right now

cant imagine what happened to them other than some kind of power surge for all 3 amps to be dead ?? havn't got a clue ,, just a few quid there and his not bothered so figured i see what can be done ,,

any help appreciated

thanks

There was a batch of Behringer amps that had faulty mains on/off switches which is easily solved by putting a piggy back spade connector on one of the switch wires and then putting the second wire spade onto the piggy--ues either of the switch terminals as obviously you are by-passing the switch so it will not be in circuit anyway--cheers--John.

rewind them & use them as mixing desk power supply's ;)

unfortunately the behringer amps arent too forgiving of abuse, doesnt take alot to blow them up :/
apparently, they are another slimmed down crest clone :/

they are 'redone' QSC RMX clones

The tale of the Tapco Juice is even funnier - apparently the company who they contracted to design the amp simply copy+paste 'd the QSC RMX, PCB and part numbers as well - not even bothering to do a retrace like the Berry. Tapco eventually stuck in better components (well they did in the ones I've seen - RosscoPico's seems to be a victim of really bad QC), probably 'by accident'. Do a google for 'sekaku'.

The reason why so many of the cheaper amps are RMX copies is a result of cleverness by QSC which = cheap production ability (don't know specifics, sorry)

Tapco/Mackie got done for cloning mixers or some other product I heard.

Well they only use one box heatsink through the centre of the amp (instead of one per side) which might help keeps costs down somewhat.
