never heard pl9

but i think pl380 does sound quite nice on subs, just not got quite enough drive behind it for the "bassochists"

brilliant @ 2 ohms too, and so much power on tap, actually too much power for 4 1850's per side smiley1

If you were to put a PL9 up against todays 10,000 watt amps, the PL9 will make them sound like 5000 watts

Excellent, much respect on the feedback.

See mykey, you can be helpful when you choose to be...

You have always said your only issue with the amp, was it sounding hard on sub.

That just requires couple of "elements" in the chain, to shape the sub a "little"..

if i rember right, then clair bros used these below a crest 1004 to run the lows on the clair I4 system (they might still for all i know, although this was a few years ago now). bloody heavy racks. i think the I4s and I4bs (the seperate bass cab, but tuned exactly as the low section in the main cab) had jbl 2242h´s in em. basicly an S4 split into 2 cabs and shaped like a line array. they seemed to work great. we only had that system in summer, and i was only with that company for 2 years, but i never saw one (out of 16) go down at 2,66 ohms.

The PL9s have "so far" proven themselves to be fully capable of driving 3-4x PD1850s/V18-1000s per channel, on Roots/Reggae, if fed sufficient power supply.
