Thanks for the reply. I have try'd both the programs you have mentioned and end up with a box of only 19ish liters, not even big enough to fit the driver in. Some one suggested a 15in reflex box off BC speakers.com, will this work

49 litres I end up at -10db for 50hz at that volume.
Very tiny cab

My take is 94 litres internal with two 100mm diameter round vents of 115mm long
This gives 52.3hz tuning at -3db

Let me know what rough dimensions you need box

Shelf ported reflex are the in thing these days.

Below design easily modifiable to correct volume & tuning freq, using Winisd

Bee. Thats a 480mm port length in a tiny box. It would be nearly at the back??

Lev: Fashion aint always correct. Round ports have less wall area and therefore present a more accurate sim.
(I think thats the basics mr Wilkes, LOL)

Nick smiley20 and a damn site easier to modify, you do not have to commit to glueing in place until spot on.

Just finished two boxes this week, a double 18" job and a 12" + 1" which I have put up on SP. The round ports in the 12" were bang on, the triangular ports in the 18" were a mile out, so much so that I re-checked all of my calcs. waste of time doing the simms I would have got closer by instinct.

A round port with a I/dia at least a third of the dia of the driver is all you need, maybe on large excursion 18" drivers go for something a bit larger i.e. 200 dia tubes.

Tony
